2180 E Horse Creek Rd for rent in Jackson, WY

Up for rent starting Dec 1, 2023: FURNISHED recently renovated home on 4 acres with ample storage space in a shared barn and shed. Property is on Horse Creek road about 15 minutes south of Jackson just off the Snake river. See linked virtual tour. Max occupancy: 6 humans and 3 cars. This charming mountain chalet is the perfect place to relax and enjoy the beauty of Jackson Hole in the winter. Located on a quiet dirt road just off the Snake River, the house is set on 4 acres surrounded by trees and mountains, offering a cozy winter hideaway in a rural setting, yet just 15 minutes to Jackson Hole town square. The house has three bedrooms, two full bathrooms and one half-bath, so there's plenty of room for your whole family or group of friends. The downstairs living room is a perfect spot for morning coffee with a book or apres-ski wine and hors d'oeuvres with friends. The upstairs loft family room offers a more casual setting for games and movies and has a bonus queen bed and a half bath. The entire home features very large windows to enjoy the stunning views of the winter wonderland around you. The kitchen always seems to be the hang-out spot in my house! It's fully equipped including Bosch appliances, dishwasher, dedicated wine fridge and a powerful Wolf range. I love cooking and entertaining and am happy to share my sharp chef's knives, big wood cutting boards, tons of spices and lots of pots, pans and serving items. This is a REAL kitchen, not a rental kitchen. The dining room table has removable leaves and seats up to 8. My house is located on Horse Creek Road, 12 miles south of town along the Snake River and just before you get to Hoback Junction. Further down Horse Creek Road is the famous Mill Iron Ranch (1 mile) where you can enjoy winter sleigh rides with elk viewing. If you want to soak in hot springs, Astoria (4 miles) offers developed river-side hot pools by reservation. Hoback Junction (1 mile) has a gas station, liquor and grocery store that comes in handy. Jackson Hole Mountain Resort (21 miles) and Snow King (12 miles) are the go-to downhill ski spots, but I also like to go cross-country skiing on Game Creek (5 miles). Access: You'll need a 4-wheel drive vehicle in the winter as my driveway is steep. I have a plow service that does a great job of keeping it clear, but on snowy storm days it can take courage to get up and down. While my house is gorgeous and modern, I'm still in a rural setting on a dirt road on the side of a mountain, so this isn't a great fit for those that don't have experience with winter driving. There are also stairs to get up to my house that can get icy and dangerous. I'll provide you with plenty of salt and shovels, but this is a winter chore you'll need to be comfortable doing. I also have a lightweight electric snowblower that's easy to use (I'll gladly show you how). I can also see if the plow company has capacity to shovel the stairs and deck at an extra cost, but it's better not to depend on someone else for this chore. There is a studio apartment below the main house where I'll be staying in December before I take off for deep winter. While I'm on-site, I'm happy to help with snow removal and anything else you might need. I work long hours in town during the holidays, but I'm only a few minutes away if you need anything. WFH: I have a Verizon booster and get decent cell reception on that network only. Starlink internet is super fast 100+ mbps. Pets: Dogs considered on a case-by-case basis. No cats due to extreme allergies. Your dog must be well-behaved around other dogs, horses, free-roaming chickens and other farm-type animals. Zero tolerance for your dog roaming into the neighbors' property or messing with their animals. I hope to have horses within the next year and can likely rent you space for yours if it works out. About me: I worked in art and music in New Orleans (2000 - 2005) and then moved back home to California after Hurricane Katrina. I worked in finance for 10 years (muni bonds, private banking), and in 2015 became the owner/operator of Smiley's Schooner Saloon & Hotel, the oldest bar in California (Marin county, CA). During that same time, I bought an organic farm and started a farm-stay glamping and event space and did all of the jobs from the nerdy to the dirty. I started "wintering" in Jackson Hole during the "rainy" season in California to get my powder fix working at JHMR. I love this community and am excited to lay down roots here. In my free time I do a mediocre job of snowboarding, snowmobiling, mountain biking, road biking, boating, horseback riding, fishing, hunting, cooking, entertaining, camping, etc.
