The Sous Chef is responsible for supervising all aspects of food production for a specific shift(s) or food station(s). The Sous Chef must be able to enforce good housekeeping and quality control in food production and follow established menus and recipes, create specials and maintain control over food and labor costs. This individual is expected to be capable of directing day-to-day work of employees and thorough supervision of staff directly. This includes staffing, scheduling and working with the Chef on performance management and evaluations. This position also allows you to assist with training.¬ 

The ‚€œmust haves‚€ for this position include:

  • 5+ years previous casual fine dining cooking experience, including supervisory experience within the kitchen

  • Able to work long hours and varied shifts

  • Knowledgeable¬ of working¬ in a small fast paced kitchen and staff

  • Knowledge of ‚€œfrom scratch‚€ soup preparations and sauces

  • Skilled in all aspects of cooking

  • Food handling knowledge

  • Food costing and accountability

  • Ability to provide your own knives

We prefer that you additionally have the following skills / experience, but it is not required:

  • Excellent people skills

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Excellent Knife handling skills able to train proper use of knives to less experienced staff

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
